Need some advice :D
Hi, I've just started my ranger and I've just reached Kourna.
My current build is:
Burning Arrow
Necrosis
Disrupting Shot
Lightning Reflexes
Favorable Winds
Apply Poison
Antidote Signet
Resurrection Signet
Necrosis goes well with the burning and poisoning. I only have Nightfall though so unsure of what to add.
Right now I'm wearing Survivor insignias, Expertise +1, Attunements, Sundering Storm Bow of Fortitude with Strength and Honor inscription.

Have you got EotN? Dwarven Stability+Lightning Reflexes are good combo.

Not much I can offer you there. As good as it is, most and best skills are in Proph, and Factions. Eotn and Nf are good for PvE-only skills too, but, unfortunatly Nf has too small of a variety. May I suggest purchasing the Plat Edition of Proph+Eotn or Fac+Eotn? (Facs is better, R/Rt's are awesome!)

Burning arrow
Distracting Shot
Savage Shot
Mending Touch
Troll's Unguent
Apply Poison
Natural Stride
Resurrection Signet
Either all survivor or All radiant Insignias.
Expertise Headpiece with Rune of minor Expertise
Rune of Minor Marksmanship
Rune of Minor Wilderness Survival
Rune of Superior Vigor
Rune of Vitae
Recurve bow with bowstring that lengthens poison duration, HP +30 mod, 15^50 insignia.
Vampiric Flatbow HP +30 or armor +5, 15^50
Elemental damage shortbow, HP +30, 15^50
Spear Hp +30 energy +5, Shield HP + 30 then really whatever insignia you need most (I prefer pretty much 1 of every kind...)
It's good for pretty much anyplace in PvE where things can be poisoned, and works extremely well in PvP if you ever want to try it out.
I'm pretty sure all those skills are core or nightfall so it should be possible.
Your stats should be. 14 Expertise, 10 Marksmanship, 10 Wilderness Survival, 3 protection prayers.

I tried that build from PvX Wiki but not as much damage output as I hoped for.
Right now I changed that build into more of a condition build. So might think of using Epidemic.

Antidote Signet is already on the build.
I'm deciding between Epidemic, which can spread my burning and poison conditions, or Necrosis which does 80+ damage to foes with conditions.
One is Mesmer the other is Necro.

Necrosis just does short, bursts of dmg, but needs a constant 5e to maintain. Epidemic spreads conds and pressure, and is less-likely to be interrupted.

How does Dazed hurt a Ranger? Why are you casting spells? Explain?

Try Fragility + Epidemic with your Burning Arrow and Apply Poison.

Hmm..maybe, but Fragility says every "new" condition, so I think it means that I should use Apply Poison first, hit the target, then use Burning Arrows for it to get the burning condition which triggers the damage, but does it trigger again since Burning Arrows causes the target to get poisoned again due to Apply Poison?
I g2g to sleep right now, be back in 12 hours. :P

You can use Burning Arrow while under the Barbed Arrows preparation (causes bleeding) and Poison Tip Signet (from Eye of the North) to supple Burning, Bleeding, and Poison in 1 hit. That will trigger Fragility 3 times, even though it was only 1 arrow. And since Fragility is AoE now, following the condition application with Epidemic will then trigger the Fragility damage on all the other monsters in the range.

MagmaRed, he doesn't have EN. And Poison Tip Signet is from Factions (isn't it?). Either way, can't use it.
Stances are, imo, pretty bad unless you have Dwarven Stability due to PvP nerfs (hope the stances get PvE versions so we have more than 9 seconds with 60 second recharge >_>)
Also, Fragility triggers everytime a condition is re-applied, iirc (correct me on this, been a loooong while since I used that skill myself instead of on my heroes) and everytime a condition is removed.
But anyways, since you only have Nightfall, I can't think of anything better than your OP build - except replacing the nature ritual with Toxicity (though that would require some additional points in Beast Mastery) and finding another skill for the stance, as the short lasting time, is not worth it imo.
Past that, work on your hero builds.
That's my 2 cents.

Isn't -10 degeneration the max you can have?

In case the foe have some regen, 7 + 3 + 4 = 14 health degen, makes it harder to even it out. It also helps to keep the degen constant.

I wasn't telling him he should use those skills, I was giving him an example of 3 conditions to trigger Fragility 3 times with 1 shot. You could also toss in Concussion Shot and Pin Down, and even Throw Dirt for 3 more conditions, but that wouldn't make for a very good build. And Poison Tip Signet is a skill from Eye of the North, as I stated. All the other skill I mentioned are available in Nightfall.
Time Nexus, I wasn't commenting on degen. I was explaining that conditions can be stacked into 1 shot to trigger Fragility multiple times. But yes, degen is capped at -10. However, as mentioned, if the target has regen of any kind, they offset each other. So if your target has Healing Breeze on it for +7 regen, and you hit with -14 degen, you will have a target with a -7 degen.
If you do spec into Illusion Magic for Fragility, you may also want to consider options for other skills. An interrupt build using Frustration can work great to not only make the interrupts easier, but also provide more damage. I normally take a hero with Frustration when I play my Ranger. If you can supply Daze on a caster with Frustration on it, the effects are very powerful.
